In another instance of CNN letting Cyber Hipsters say dumb things for attention and pageviews, Gina Trapani warned about the rise of the “Brogrammer”.

Gizmodo, usually a den of stupidity in its own right (remember that time they stole a prototype iPhone and tried to extort Steve Jobs for information?), called out the Brogrammer meme tonight.

It’s worth a read.

To be clear: Gina Trapani’s point is worth being aware of, I just have issues with a real problem being wrapped in an attention getting blanket that does nothing to solve that problem.

Silicon Valley is not an open and inviting place to people who aren’t white guys. That needs to change, but real change comes from action, not bullshit and buzzwords.
